Insightful article here. Immersing yourself in a foreign language is a transformative and enriching experience. I was lucky enough as a recent high school grad to spend a year in Mexico. Knowing Spanish allowed me to interact with so many people and have so many great experiences. Of course, it really helps to have an opportunity to live where the language you are studying is spoken. Otherwise, it just feels like you're spinning your wheels learning vocabulary and grammar rules with no possibility of putting them into practice.
